Underground Tanks and piping

An underground storage tank system (UST) is a tank and any underground piping connected to the tank that has at least 10 percent of its combined volume underground.

Until the mid-1980s, most USTs were made of bare steel, which is likely to corrode over time and allow UST contents to leak into the environment. Faulty installation or inadequate operating and maintenance procedures also can cause USTs to release their contents into the environment.

The major potential hazard from a leaking UST is that the petroleum or other hazardous substance can seep into the soil and contaminate groundwater, which is a source of drinking water. A leaking UST can present other health and environmental risks, including the potential for fire and explosion.

Our tank testing technologies can be used on any petroleum product, on any type of single or double wall tanks.

Our method is third-party certified, in accordance with Federal EPA regulations.

The work is performed by the most experienced and trained technicians in the field. Combine that with our 7-day a week, 24-hour emergency response service, you will have peace of mind knowing that we will be there, wherever you are, to take care of your testing needs whenever they occur.
